About the Center:

Above all, Tenufa is a warm second home for the students, at the heart of Be'er Sheva, where students find a short while to refresh themselves from their demanding studies.
Tenufa Center was established in 2004, as one of the first Nefesh Yehudi centers in Israel, and has been continuously active with about 200 students a year.

The aim of the project was, and is, to present Jewish content as current and relevant, so that anyone can find the right tools to deal with all facets of modern life - to subsequently bolster Jewish identity among the participants.

Beyond that, the project creates a unique meeting point between the religious and Charedi staff and youths from a completely secular background - a meeting of hearts and minds, a connection, and true friendships between the differing sectors.

Through the activities, students enjoy lectures and workshops on various current topics, aimed at enriching their knowledge of Jewish themes and identity.

This is combined with Shabbat meals, weekend events, and heritage trips.

Special events are conducted throughout the year, in addition to performances of artists creating art with a Jewish orientation, student holiday parties, historical and heritage site tours, and more.
